We’re located at 3 Granite Drive, Kya Sands Business Park, Kya Sands, Johannesburg (near Randburg and Fourways).
Our operating hours are:
- Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:30
- Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 – 15:00
Collections or visits outside these hours can be arranged by appointment, subject to availability.

What is the online portal, and what can I do on it?
Once you’ve been assigned a unit, we’ll provide you with access to our secure online portal.
In the portal, you’ll be able to:
- View your invoices and payment history
- See your unit details (including your unit number)
- Manage your account information

Can I pay online?
Yes. Payments are handled securely through your personalised portal link once your unit has been assigned.
If you need help with payment or portal access, our team will assist you.
What can I store, and are there any restrictions?
You can store most household and personal items, including furniture, boxes, documents, tools, and general belongings.
For safety reasons, the following items are not permitted:
- Flammable or hazardous materials
- Chemicals, fuel, or explosives
- Perishable food or goods
- Live animals or plants
- Illegal or stolen property
If you’re unsure about an item, please check with our team before storing it.
How long can I store for?
Storage is available on a minimum one-month basis, and you’re welcome to store for as long as you need after that.

No, you can use any freight company. We’ll securely store and consolidate your deliveries until your preferred freight partner is ready to collect.

No, there are no hidden fees. Our unit prices are clearly listed on the website, and our team will confirm all details with you before you proceed.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No, no deposit is required to rent a storage unit at Kya Storage.
What documents do I need to rent a unit?
To rent a unit, you’ll need:
- A signed storage contract (completed during the sign-up process)
A copy of your South African ID
When can I access my storage unit?
Access times are the same as our operating hours:
- Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:30
- Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 – 15:00
If you need access outside these hours, visits can be arranged by appointment, subject to availability.
Do I need to bring my own lock?
Yes, you’ll need to bring your own lock for your unit.
If you don’t have one, we can also supply a lock that you can purchase. Pricing will be provided when needed.
Are the units protected from weather and rain?
Yes. Our units are clean, dry, secure, and fully protected from the elements. They are covered by a roof structure which protects them from rain, and they are designed to keep your belongings safe and secure.
Our units are also reinforced and fireproofed for added peace of mind.
